Prince Royce, born Geoffrey Royce Rojas (New York, 11 May 1989), is an American singer-songwriter. He is praised by his fans with the title of “Prince of bachata”.

He was born in the New York neighborhood of the Bronx to parents from the Dominican Republic. His father is a taxi driver, and his mother is a stylist, the second of four brothers. During his adolescence he participates in the elementary school choir, competes in some talent shows, and, at the age of 13, he begins to write poetry, which he then adapts to musical bases by composing real songs. During his childhood and adolescence, he listens to different musical genres, such as techno, pop, rap, hip-hop, rock and bachata music, but especially in the style of Michael Jackson, Usher, Ginuwine, Juan Luis Guerra, Anthony Santos and Rojas Adventure.

Of his first public performance, he said: “It was in elementary school, I sang. I felt really comfortable on stage ”. At 16 he wrote his first musical compositions under the pseudonym of Prince Royce. At 18 he participates in the “Sabado Gigante” program where he performs pieces by Wisin y Yandel. In an interview she said that one of his first jobs was done in a cell phone shop: “I had to do it to pay the musicians, the studio and the entire base for what they are today. From the serenade, to the cleaning of the material, to the mobile shop, I had to do it “.
